A Quick View of Comic Con

I went, I saw, I sold a few books. I also met some cool people, too. I will write a more detailed assessment in a few days, but for now, let me share a few snapshots.

Check my Facebook page this weekend for a video of me giving away two free books!

  1. Hope you had a great time 🙂 Love the pics!

  2. Good on ya, JM.

I have never been to a ComicCon. Your pictures give me a some sense of your adventure. In one of your next posts, might you comment on the mix of genres represented? I’ve been reading that comics have gone well beyond superheroes.

I didn’t get much of a chance to see. I was stuck at my table most of the time 🙁 But from what I’ve heard, this one was rather small. Mostly a lot of sellers, selling toys and figures and items like that. I think I was the only fiction author. Around me there were a couple tables doing sketches, a couple comic artists, and a guy who did simpsons style caricatures (he made a killing). There were also make-up tables, both general women’s make up and movie make-up. There was one place, I didn’t see, that did some awesome zombie make-up. Disney and Marvel also had areas where they sold special items, like art books. That sort of thing.

Most of the comic related stuff was Marvel, with some DC to a lesser extent. Not a lot of indie or smaller companies.

  3. I would love to have hung out with you for a day. That looked like so much fun.

    • It was. 🙂 But folks say this event is rather small, so I can’t imagine what a big con back home would be like!
